Living in a recession means you have to cut back on many things like fashion. Looking fabulous and having stylish clothes doesn’t mean you have to overdraft your checking account. You can still have the designer’s clothes for a low price. Shopping online has become a new trend for many people.

Big companies like Sears, Old Navy, Wet Seal, Forever 21, Chanel and Louis Vuitton have seen that many of their customers do not have time to run to the store. Many companies want their online revenue to go up. There are a couple sites where you can rent designer dresses, shoes and bags. You can rent a designer dress for a week and return it by Monday. Let’s take a look at some of these sites where you can rent and buy the perfect outfit without breaking your wallet.

Bag Borrow or Steal has all the designer bags a recessionista would want. After becoming famous from the “Sex and The City” movie, anyone can afford to rent a designer bag for a week. You also can find limited edition bags that are no longer available—Louis Vuitton Graffiti bags were a hot item to have a year ago. If you want a popular bag, you might be on the waiting list. A good thing about this site is that they seem like they have more than one bag. So your waiting time can take up to a week. Once you find the bag you want to rent, you will have two opinions: rent for a week or rent the bag for a month. Renting prices can range from $12 to $200 a week, all depending on the designer and popularity of the bag. Most of the bags start at $12 to rent for a week and $45 for a month. The membership is free, and when you tell a friend you will get $25 added to your account.  You can also rent sunglasses and jewelry. Bagborroworsteal.com

Celebrities like supermodel Kate Moss has her own dress line with TopShop. Topshop is where you find something you can wear that will make you stand out. You can find many unknown and up-and-coming designers on the site. Their blog on the site is very useful because you can find out about trends people are wearing.  Topshop.com

If you’re having a hard time deciding what pair of shoes you want, you can take a look at celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe’s Picks on the site.
