Chicago native Shavar D. Clark has known that he wanted to become an actor since he was first asked as a child. By embracing his love for portraying different kinds of people, he worked to get himself on track with his goal. He considers himself fortunate enough to have had an alternative outlet, allowing him to avoid the things that could have potentially made him a “product of his environment,” having grown up in the now defunct Harold Ickes projects. Since then and as his interests grew, he's not only on the path to achieving his goal of becoming an accomplished actor—having done numerous short films and music videos—but he's also put his creative skills to work as a music producer under the name Top Prospect. Shavar is also growing as an up-and-coming model. For him, with the love that he has for his crafts, the sky is the limit! Contact Shavar at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Doors began to open after that: He was cast as a model for Blake Martin’s PETA Campaign, "I’d Rather Go Naked than Wear Fur,” and has worked with photographers Logan Alexander, David A. Geary, Anre' Anre' and many more. He recently appeared in Blake Martin's "iCandy: A Dance and Fashion Show" and is expected to be in Blake Martin’s future runway show, "The Honey Moon's Over: Men vs. Women," as well as the short film "Why Don't You Love Me.”

Martel was recently selected to be a part of Ebonie Camille's male model group, ECSTASYSQUAD; an upcoming promotional trailer for author Winkk and her new novel Misleading; and will also appear as an extra in the upcoming cable drama "Boss" starring Kelsey Grammar. The ultimate goal for Martel is to take modeling and entertainment by storm and hopefully use his success to become a positive mentor for youth, especially to the young black men of his hometown.
