Art, music and food connoisseurs recently gathered at Chicago’s Zhou B Art Center for StreetFood Artistry 2012, another taste of the festival’s concoction of savory cuisine, visual and performing arts. Co-founders Alicia August-Wright and Patrice Perkins hosted their second annual event and created their vision of a unique venue for guests. The Chicago natives provided vendors and artists from some of the city and surrounding area who offered some of their best treats and most talented artists.
Food trucks and carts offered an assortment of delicious delights for attendees. Baby Cakes, TamaleFoodie, SamichBox, Getta Polpetta, Ice-Cubed, FYI Truck, Dokkaebi Tacos, Curried and Falafel Brothers were the featured trucks at this year’s festival. Lick Lick by Arrf Scarf and Puffs of Doom brought their carts, and Jo Snow was the featured pop up vendor.
An assortment of street musicians and performers provided live entertainment for the guests to appreciate. With plenty for the adults to revel in, a kid’s corner and CircEsteem hosted interactive circus stations for the children to enjoy.
The founders also showcased non-profit organization M.A.D.D. Rhythms, who was also a part of the StreetFood Artistry Music Stage. The organization will benefit from a portion of the event’s proceeds.
