Memories

I have all these memories of you and I

Walking in the park on a Saturday

Lounging around the house doing nothing all day

I remember us

I remember your touch …

I have all these memories of you and I

I loved you and you loved me

Where you were, I wanted to be

We were in love

At least, that’s how I remember things

But maybe, things were not as they seemed …

I guess you didn’t really call all that much

Sometimes, you did pull away from my touch …

But other times, you were so attentive

But then, you’d be distant and … insensitive

I have all these memories of you and I

I knew you were the one for me

At least, that’s how I wanted it to be

We didn’t spend that much time

I guess I refused to see that as a sign

I have all these memories of you and I

People remember the good times

Tending to romanticize ...

A relationship that never was

A love that never was

I have all these memories of you and I

Now, I see more I than you

More 1 than 2

But … I have all these memories of you …
